Through fun and engaging hands-on activities, this event provides students, families and community members an opportunity to understand and learn about the world of making things, and how these activities relate to the Portland region’s robust manufacturing sector. This initiative is part of a regional MFG coordinating effort that includes Workforce Investment Boards, Community Colleges, and the School-to-Work Consortium.

Thank you for volunteering to help with the Makers Gone Pro event!
Since 2014, the Center for Advanced Learning, Impact NW, KCR Manufacturing, and the City of Gresham have partnered to implement an event that exposes youth to modern manufacturing career pathways and the value that manufacturing adds to the U.S. economy in celebration of National Manufacturing Day – an event called Makers Gone Pro (MGP).
We are excited to have you here as a volunteer for this great event. Below is some information that will help you have a wonderful experience.
- You will be assigned a specific task for the evening. These tasks can include helping with the space set up, assisting vendors in finding their space, greeting visitors, answering questions, and putting classrooms and furniture back in order after the event.
- You will work in pairs on your assigned task.
- You are expected to make every effort to be on time for your assignment and to stay for the length of your shift.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and excitement about the event!
